Hello, in principle if you have a problem with your nintendo you should contact customer service again so that they can send you another one after returning yours.
The items I won didn't have any guarantee but I admit that I never had any problems.
So, you shouldn't worry too much about the good functioning of your nintendo especially if you sell it to someone around you.
